News ArchivesMarch 25, 2022

i OCEAN, a digital interactive aquarium, built by the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology officially opened today (25th) at Chaojing Park, Keelung. i OCEAN is the first aquarium that combines marine life with virtual-real integration technology provided by Brogent Technologies Inc. When people walk into the aquarium, first they see a huge wall projection of various stunning corals and fish swimming before their eyes. . These beautiful underwater sceneries are shot by the cameras under the Chaojing Bay area and live broadcasting through 5G Internet. This exquisite design allows people to immersive themselves in the breathtaking underwater world of the north coast.

According to Brogent, the design concept of i OCEAN is to combine marine features with interactive simulation technology. The reception area Originate of Marine with high-resolution digital content live broadcasting through 5G presents the beauty of the ocean. Creative Aquarium Painting Ocean is where the children can turn their imagination of the ocean into a vivid drawing to project and interact with it on the wall. In Adventure on Sea, there are three main interactive experience areas, the Seal Family, N-Dimensioneer, and VR Ocean Defender. When at the Seal Family, people can interact with adorable seals by gesture recognition interaction technology. Next at N-Dimensioneer, visitors embark on an underwater expedition to travel through a forest of giant algae and be surrounded by a swarm of sardines by sitting on a personal immersive ride and wearing a VR goggle. Finally, at VR Ocean Defender, players will become the defender in a submarine. Through periscope-shaped VR goggles, they can target marine debris and dispose of them to get scores to save marine life.

i OCEAN is the first new digital aquarium experience of Brogent. It comes with physical water tanks, interactive experience, virtual reality, as well as immersive simulation technology, and this offers a brand new way for the public to enter the ocean Metaverse where the imagination becomes the reality. Brogent mentioned that many international aquariums and zoos have gradually begun to focus on digital technology to realize the concept of edutainment. For instance, Brogent built the immersive ride at Arctic Exploration Center at a wildlife zoo park in the Netherlands in 2016. The ride has been ranked as the tourists’ top favorite experience since then. Educational immersive entertainment has become more common and welcome, and immersive rides will be an absolutely important part of future development.
